FAQs
What Makes PUMA’s Winter Jackets Ideal for Australian Conditions?
While Australia may be the sun-burnt country, we all know that the weather and climate of Australia is far more varied than just endless sun. Winters in the north of Australia tend to be more moderate or still relatively hot thanks to its proximity to the equator. The southern states tend to experience far more varied conditions with significantly colder winter days, increased rainfall, strong winds, and snow in higher altitude regions.
That’s why we manufacture a diverse range of winter jackets that can work in various settings, from lightweight packable jackets for more moderate climates and insulated puff jackets and windbreakers in cooler locales. We use an array of materials and proprietary technologies to ensure you’re adequately protected from the elements while still offering the necessary support for workouts and exercise.
Are PUMA AU Men’s Jackets Designed for Both Sport and Streetwear?
Absolutely. At PUMA, we know that workout and exercise attire can be far more than just workout gear. Much of our range is designed for both activity and leisure, often known as athleisure.
Whether you want a jacket for workouts, for style, or for both, our selection is designed to cater to all.
Which Jacket Styles from PUMA are Trending for Men in 2025?
We all know that fashion is cyclical, and many of the trending styles for men’s jackets in 2025 centre around retro revivals, sports and technologically-inspired designs, oversized styles, and bold silhouettes.
If you’re looking to be on trend this season, incorporate some vintage styles. Our T7 range includes jackets with the famed stripe design that blends our classic design notes with modern appeal. Varsity jackets are another staple in the old-school style that we’re seeing on the streets again. Our varsity-inspired jackets speak to the famous varsity jackets you often see worn by high schoolers and college athletes, particularly in the US. Finally, with motorspots and F1 having it’s moment, limited edition ranges and our motorsport jackets make the perfect statement piece in any outfit.
Do PUMA Men’s Jackets Include Water-Resistant or Windproof Options?
Yes, they certainly do. Our range of men’s jackets accounts for the wide range of climates and conditions that Australia has to offer. Whether you live in an area with drier winter conditions (like southeast Queensland) or your winters can be more drizzly affairs, as is the case in Victoria, you’ll find a jacket well-suited to your needs.
We sell classic hoodies, wind-resistant puffer jackets, water-repellant windbreakers, and much more. These utilise a range of proprietary technologies, including windCELL and dryCELL.
How Does PUMA Integrate Tech Fabrics into its Men’s Outerwear Range?
Outerwear tends to be the key piece of gear that will be designed to withstand a range of climatic conditions. Inner layers are usually focused on providing warmth and often use moisture-wicking materials to ensure you don’t become uncomfortable from sweating.
Outer layers, like a windbreaker or puff jackets, are where our proprietary tech, like rainCELL, windCELL and warmCELL, come into play. These technologies ensure that the outer layer, whether it’s a wind breaker, a puff jacket, or other type of shell layer, prevents unwanted cold from intense winds and varying weather conditions. warmCELL is helpful in adding extra insulation, which may reduce the number of layers you need to use to stay warm.
Are There Lightweight Men’s Jackets for Transitional Seasons?
Yes, we sell an extensive range of men’s jackets made from lightweight materials or with greater breathability that make them a good fit for transitional seasons.
In particular, our range of track jackets often proves a great option for the transitions between autumn and winter, offering a lightweight kit that can be worn for track and field, gym workouts, and general daytime activities.
Other options, like relaxed jackets made from lightweight polyester or packable jackets (those that can fit into a compact carry bag), are usually lightweight and relatively thin - perfect for transitions between seasons.
Which PUMA Collections Include Insulated Winter Jackets for Men?
When it comes to finding winter jackets that offer solid insulation for the coldest months, it’s best to keep an eye out for our range of puff jackets. Many of these utilise a range of our key technologies, including windCELL, warmCELL, and rainCELL.
As the name suggests, windCELL protects you from intense winds; warmCELL is all about maintaining warmth through proper insulation to stay warm in the colder temperatures, and rainCELL helps you keep dry when caught in the rain.
What are the Best Layering Options with a PUMA Jacket?
How you layer your winter gear can be varied depending on your tolerance for the cold and what matters to you more. If you like to feel as warm and toasty as possible, then you’ll definitely want to layer two or three items of clothing. In colder climates, it’s often suggested to layer with three items. One forms your base layer, another the mid layer, and finally the outer layer or shell.
Base layers are typically focused on providing a close, warming layer that keeps your core well-protected from the elements. As you’ll have one or two other layers on top, focus on materials that simultaneously offer warmth, a degree of breathability, and moisture-wicking capabilities.
Materials like polyester can be a solid option, as well as merino wool (base layers that use Merino wool tend to be more pricey). The base layer does not need to be thick - focus on a thinner base layer that hugs your body (without constricting it).
The middle layer, if needed, should offer good insulation. Materials that can keep the heat locked in more. Again, this could be something like polyester or a layer with more tightly woven fabrics that prevent as much cool air from getting in or body heat from escaping. Given you’re trying to keep heat in, the mid layer should also be moisture-wicking. Despite their name, sweatshirts can be a good choice for mid layers as many do include moisture-wicking properties.
Finally, there’s the outer layer. Puff jackets, wind breakers, or more tightly-woven hoodies can work, depending on the climate. Of course, if you live in a part of Australia where rain and wind are regular features of winter, consider a windbreaker or weather-resistant puffer jackets.
